Merry Christmas

2020 has been a tough year everyone as all of our lives has been affected in one way or another. We hope that all of you and your families were able to stay safe and healthy.

Although 2020 might have been a difficult year, Canarian Legal Alliance has been able to keep delivering the usual good work that our clients expect from us.

To start off we have set a new record in the number of clients we are representing currently at the courts in Spain, with over 2100 live cases! On top of this we were also able to help our clients to achieve the nullity of their contracts in over 330 occasions. That is right, 330 favourable sentences we received from the High Courts and First Instance courts throughout Spain.

We must not forget that these incredible numbers do not come about without the constant hard work and effort shown by our legal team on a daily basis. Representing more than one claim per day and having assisted over 315 hearings at the courts of Spain 2020 has an extremely busy year.

All these figures have been obtained when the courts were not able to work as just like in most countries, as Spain shut down completely during the state of emergency in Spain.

By the end of the year, Canarian Legal Alliance has now paid out almost 4 million Euros to our clients and secured a further 900.000€ in bank guarantees as to the result of our provisional enforcement procedures we are continuously implemented.

From these figures let us highlight one of our most recent successes, in which our client who won against Marriott Vacation Club has received over 28,000€ within months after winning in the First Instance Court.

The reason for this time length is because our team is implementing effective procedures to make those resorts who fail to comply voluntarily pay the awarded funds in a quick matter. It is because of certain resorts unwillingness to cooperate, that has led Canarian Legal Alliance to take measures such as presenting a criminal report against Anfi Resorts. Preliminary Investigations have started to determine if Anfi is deliberately obstructing the payments to their ex-members.

We shall also mention that one of the biggest timeshare companies, based in Tenerife, Silverpoint, has entered into liquidation earlier this year, where we are now representing our clients’ interests at the mercantile court. Against this company, we have also presented a criminal report, and during the liquidation procedure, we are expecting to see clear evidence of supposed hiding of assets.

On another positive note, we continue to experience many judges deciding at the preliminary hearing to pass a resolution without the need for a trial. This allows for cases to move faster for our clients. Due to the pandemic, this tendency has become stronger, and we have now even seen preliminary hearings and trials being carried out completely online.

We would like to take this time to thank all our clients for the trust they have placed in us, and of course a very big thanks to all the team at Canarian Legal Alliance for all their continued effort and outstanding work.

Now let’s make 2021 be an even better year!

Wishing you Merry Christmas: CLA TEAM
